There are two avenues to obtain citizenship in Dominica. You must fulfill one of the following criteria:

  1. Economic Diversification Fund (EDF): You can make a non-refundable donation to the EDF, which supports various public and private sector projects aimed at national development. For a single applicant, the minimum donation is $200,000, and this amount increases depending on the number of family members included in your application.

  2. Real Estate Investment: Alternatively, you can secure citizenship by purchasing property. This requires buying real estate from a government-approved development, with a minimum investment of $200,000. You must maintain this investment for a minimum of three years.

No, residency in Dominica is not required either before or after you obtain citizenship.

You are allowed to add the following dependents to your application for the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program:

  • Your spouse
  • Dependent children
  • Parents and grandparents who are 65 years or older
  • Unmarried, childless siblings aged between 18 and 25

A Dominica passport remains valid for 10 years before requiring renewal. Passports issued to dependents under 16 years old are valid for only 5 years, which means they need to be renewed more often. As of July 2021, biometric passports are available for individuals who hold citizenship in Dominica.

After obtaining citizenship in Dominica, you can transfer your citizenship status through marriage and pass it on to future generations by descent.
